The Lost City of Z by David Grann

on
11.15.2017

Prepare to get lost in Kyle's moping, Jeff watching ALL THE MOVIES, and Michael's affection for Charlie Hunnam... It's been a long time coming, and while The Lost City of Z didn't make Michael cry (see "Movie Bets" episode), we made sure to catch up on film and book so could discuss in depth. Toss in a group hug over Thor: Ragnarok, a sales pitch for Brigsby Bear (SO GREAT!), and serious confusion over A Ghost Story - it's CineMAGIC!!!

Show Notes

  • Yes, the movie has had multiple names mostly because the marketing was so poorly handled
  • Doug Liman also has a pretty ridiculous story regarding the many names, which is worth reading
  • Proof that the sequel will indeed be named Live Die Repeat and Repeat along w/ promises that the ending of Edge will make more sense?!?!

The guys discuss PD James' dystopian novel, a trenchant analysis of politics and power that speaks urgently to this social moment and deserves to be rediscovered.
